Prue & Adrian Knight met at Birmingham University around 1970. Adrian has been playing bridge since school days and is county standard player and Grandmaster. Prue took up bridge about 25 years ago and is a Life Master. We can play Acol or Standard American.
Prue retired from teaching in 2009 and has been teaching bridge at West Midlands Bridge Club in Solihull since then to beginners and improvers as well as teaching minibridge in schools.
Adrian is a retired IT professional which is useful experience for scoring bridge sessions using the latest methods. He has assisted with teaching sessions for all standards of player from beginner to county standard. He is a qualified Tournament Director and regularly directs at club sessions.
We have run bridge on Fred Olsen, Royal Caribean and Cunard cruise ships.

Prue and Adrian have run bridge sessions on cruises since 2013, with very positive feedback from guests. They feel it is important for students and guests to develop confidence and feel relaxed when learning and playing bridge. Prue leads the instruction sessions and her teaching skills developed professionally and with bridge have been invaluable in making her sessions relevant and fun.
Prue chooses areas to teach which lend themselves to be meaningful to a range of abilities and carefully selects interesting hands to play.

Defensive signals and discards, tell partner something important
Overcalls, constructive or obstructive?
Preemptive bidding, getting in the way
Fourth suit forcing, finding the right contract
Declarer play techniques
Adrian organises the afternoon duplicate bridge sessions with Prue’s assistance. Partners are found when required and everyone is made to feel welcome.
